The first annual Gustav Vasa seminar was held in 2003 at the University of Jyväskylä. The themes of the seminar have changed every year, ranging from business and economic history to history of violence, witchcraft, and nobility. Also the size of the event has varied throughout the years from small workshops to big conferences.
